Dot - the smallest stop motion animation character.

Okay, this isn't a commercial, just a little background.  Nokia (remember them, the biggest cell-phone producer in the world?) has released the N8 which includes a 12 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens.  To show it off, they've commissioned this stop-motion animation which was filmed with the N8 phone and a microscope.

Adults should be allowed to have picture books too.  Why should kids get all of this sort of beautiful illustration?  You can see more of his work on his site.

As you may tell from how many times I've posted videos like this, I love images projected on building.  Maybe it's because I spent so much time at the drive-in when I was a teen-ager.

The great nerd musical

9:33 AM / Posted by Andy / comments (0)

It isn't new but it's surprising to me how few people have seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog.   It stars Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion (from Serenity), Felicia Day (from the web-series The Guild), and it was directed by Joss Whedon (if you don't know who he is you have no nerd cred.)  You can buy the musical on iTunes or Amazon but a low-res version is available on YouTube.   If you have a Netflix account, you can stream the high-res version on your computer (or if you're a true nerd you video game system, iPad, or smartphone.

Eyewitness account: Transformers 3 invades Chicago

So, it seems that downtown Chicago has been taken over by giant transforming robots which also happen to be invisible - the story is they only appear on film.  Thanks to Steve Riforgaito for sharing the view from his office.

If you aren't into dogs dyed to look like tigers you might consider a panda dog.
