Dot - the smallest stop motion animation character.

Okay, this isn't a commercial, just a little background.  Nokia (remember them, the biggest cell-phone producer in the world?) has released the N8 which includes a 12 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens.  To show it off, they've commissioned this stop-motion animation which was filmed with the N8 phone and a microscope.

Okay, it's not fine art but James Kuhn has also made a name for himself by painting people (himself).   Check out his face painting a day - year one and (unbelievably) year two.

Wow, this is fantastic work by Alexa Meade.  It's not a painting of a person but a photograph of a painted person.

Check out her Flickr page for some additional work and some behind the scenes images.

I've been waiting for a chance to make a Barry Manilow reference just so I could post some link-bait for the hordes of Fanilows.   This has nothing to do with who writes the songs.  Instead, this is coverage of a Russian biochemist who has created an antioxidant that will slow aging.

Adults should be allowed to have picture books too.  Why should kids get all of this sort of beautiful illustration?  You can see more of his work on his site.

The Kharkiv Regional Administration building is really cool

As you may tell from how many times I've posted videos like this, I love images projected on building.  Maybe it's because I spent so much time at the drive-in when I was a teen-ager.

What better way to prove that you have a good liberal arts education than laughing at historical references?  (If you are offended by salty language, skip to the next entry.)
